What You’ll Be Doing
As a Major Component Technician, your job will be to lead and support the replacement of major wind turbine components. These tasks are essential to keeping turbines running efficiently and safely.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing main component replacements on wind turbines.
- Supporting and training other technicians during exchanges.
- Handling and testing exchange tools and creating toolkits.
- Supervising lifting operations and managing unexpected technical issues.
- Writing risk assessments and method statements.
- Conducting inspections like gearbox and bearing endoscopies.
- Ensuring all reports and site documentation are completed to a high standard.
What You Need to Apply
The ideal candidate will bring solid experience working directly on wind turbines—especially with main component exchange projects. Here’s what will make you a strong fit:
- Hands-on experience with wind turbines and major component replacements.
- Skilled in using mobile cranes, hydraulic tools, and electric torque tools.
- Preferably qualified in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
- Completed Wind Turbine Technician and Slinger Banksman training.
- Comfortable with heights and traveling frequently (including overnight stays).
- Familiar with tools like Office 365 and SAP.
- Great planning, teamwork, and communication skills.
